Aimee Ann Heer Dirks was born to John and Mary (Smith) Heer on June 7, 1928. She grew to
adulthood on the small family farm southeast of Longdale, Oklahoma. Aimee graduated from
Longdale High School.
On March 27, 1949, Aimee married Willard Dirks in the tiny living room of her childhood home.
They made their life-long home in the Greensburg, Kansas area. Shortly after their marriage,
Aimee and Willard attended revival meetings at Bethel Church. Aimee felt the call of the Lord
and without hesitation gave her heart and life to Him. Together, Aimee and Willard were
baptized by Minister Glenn Litwiller on April 23, 1950.
Aimee settled into life of the family farm, enjoying her role as homemaker. She and Willard
were married 63 years before his passing in 2012.
Aimee passed from this life in the early morning hours of February 12, 2025 at the age of 96.
She is survived by two sons, Mark (Audrey), Lee (Karen) one daughter Gina (Doug) Ensz, all of
Greensburg, Kansas, 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, her youngest brother Tom Heer,
Toms River, New Jersey, one sister-in-law, Nelda Heer, Pacific, Washington, and numerous
nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, six brothers and her
sisters-in-law.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Sunday, February 16 th , 2025 at Bethel Mennonite Church
12125 25 th Ave., Greensburg, Kansas. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Saturday evening
at the Church.
