Greensburg- Alan Ray Allison, 60, died November 30, 2013 at his home near Greensburg, Kansas. He was born October 10, 1953 in Hutchinson, Kansas, the son of L. Ray and Avanel E. (Hardwick) Allison. Alan was a grain elevator operator for 30 years before retiring in February 2012. A Greensburg resident since 1967 he graduated from Greensburg High School in 1971 and attended Hutchinson Community College. On November 16, 1981 Alan married Debbie Surrett in Greensburg. She survives. Other survivors include his parents, Greensburg, son Lane Alan Allison, daughter Alana Dawn Barkley and husband Scott, all of McPherson, KS. Alan also leaves behind two adoring grandsons, Bo Alan and Cole William Barkley, also of McPherson, Kansas, and sister Sharon (Allison) Schmidt, Greensburg. Funeral services and celebration of Alan’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at the Greensburg Mennonite Church, Greensburg with Pastor Jeffrey D. Blackburn officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg. A visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday at Fleener Funeral Home.
