Haviland- Betty Jo Clark, 92, died December 1, 2020 at her home in Haviland, Kansas. She was born April 10, 1928 in Vici, Oklahoma, the daughter of Menzo Lorenzo and Elva May (Coleman) Hiler. Betty lived in Oklahoma, Montana and Colorado before making her home in Haviland. She worked as the cook at the Haviland Grade School for many years and was well known for her cinnamon rolls on chili day. Betty was a member of the Farmerettes Club and attended the Haviland United Methodist Church. On December 31, 1947 Betty Jo married Clifton D. Clark in Haviland. He preceded her in death on December 9, 2018. Survivors include two sons Darry Clark and wife Corla, Haviland and Robin Clark and wife Judy, Fairmount, Indiana, one brother-in-law, Doyle Clark, Haviland, a sister-in-law Sandy Clark, Hastings, Nebraska, seven Grand-children, Chateece Rickard (Cory), Plains, Kansas, Julie Rowan (Jason), Bentonville, Arkansas, Kandyce Taylor (Steve), Colorado Springs, Colorado, C.D. Clark III (Sheila), Hays, Kansas, Jayci Smitherman (Dwight), Haviland, Kamryn Mauldin (Raymond) and Russ Clark (Mary Jo), Marion, Indiana, and sixteen Great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson Brennan Clark, three brothers Harry, Lenn, and Wardie Hiler, a sister Ruth Son, a brother-in-law Manford Clark and a sister-in-law Lou Ann Clark. Graveside Services and celebration of Betty’s life will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday December 8, 2020 at the Haviland Cemetery, Haviland, Kansas with Pastor Mark Fillmore presiding.
