Wichita- Bud R. McFarlen, 87, died November 16, 2018 at Homestead Health Center, Wichita, Kansas. He was born June 18, 1931 in Greensburg, Kansas the son of Albert Eugene and Onieta Carolina (Wheeler) McFarlen. Bud lived in Greensburg and Wichita. He earned a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from UCLA. He was an Aeronautical Engineer working for Boeing and retiring from Cessna Aircraft Company. Bud is survived by his wife Jane, Wichita, a son Raymond McFarlen, Winter Park, Florida, four daughters Beverly Ann Young, Harper, Kansas, Brenda Lou McFarlen, Houston, Texas, Pamela Kay Chaffee and husband David, LeCompton, Kansas, Deborah Elaine Keiswetter and husband Bryan, Norton, Kansas, one brother Ben McFarlen, Georgia, one sister Bonnie Harris, Abeline, Kansas, three Grandchildren and two Great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandchild, a brother Billie McFarlen and a sister Bettie Holt. Graveside Funeral Services and Celebration of Bud’s life will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2018 in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg, Kansas. Memorials are suggested to Prairie Homestead, and Homestead Health Center, both in care of Fleener Funeral Home, PO Box 41, Greensburg, Kansas 67054.
