LIBERAL – Constance “Connie” Roberta Shover, 96, died March 6, 2018, in Rapid City, South Dakota. She was born September 4, 1921 in Shell City, Missouri, the daughter of Charles and Ormal Rinker. Connie graduated from Madison High School, Madison, Kansas. She moved to Wichita, Kansas where she worked as a Riveter for Boeing during World War II, and Beech Aircraft in the Drafting Department. While in Wichita Connie married Marvel E. Shover on February 5, 1944. They lived in Greensburg, Kansas from 1945 until moving to Liberal, Kansas in 1951. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Liberal, Kansas. She enjoyed camping, square dancing and in her early years she played in a country western band with her family. She is survived by three daughters, Linda Payne, Liberal, Patti Ericks (Craig), Rapid City, South Dakota and Debbie Rosel (Steve) Springfield, Missouri, one sister Marjorie Williams, Greensburg, seven Grandchildren, eleven Great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marv in 2003; one brother Jay W. Rinker of Greensburg, a sister Shelby Waymire of Wichita; and one son-in-law Paul Payne of Liberal. Visitation will be Saturday March 17, 2018 from 10 am to Noon, at Fleener Funeral Home, Greensburg, followed by Graveside Services at 1 p.m. in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg. Memorials may be sent to the donor’s choice in care of Fleener Funeral Home, 514 S Main St., PO Box 41, Greensburg, KS 67054-0041.
