Corey Miles Swisher

Manhattan-Corey Miles Swisher died May 24, 2018 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House, Manhattan, KS. He was born May 19, 1973 to Terry L. Swisher and Mary H. {Thomsen} Swisher in Hays, KS. Corey married Heather Michelle Trub on February 16, 2007. She died March 15, 2017. Corey graduated from LaCrosse High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University. He worked in city government in Riley County, KS, College Station, TX, San Antonio, TX, Vail, CO, and Basehor, KS. He served 6 years in the 388th MEDSOM, United States Army Reserve, where he served as an optician. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Rush Center, KS. His passions were K-State football, fishing, gardening, the KC Royals and his dog. He is survived by his parents, Manhattan, KS; one sister, Melissa Fitzgerald {Sean}, Wichita, KS; nieces, Molly, Kaley and Emily Fitzgerald, Wichita, KS and his “French girlfriend” – his French Bulldog Pearl. He was preceded in death by his wife, and his grandparents Clinton and Joyce Swisher and Harold and Lanora Thomsen. Private Graveside services will be held at Fairview Cemetery Greensburg, Kansas, with full military honors.
