Greensburg- Dean Dee Gamble, 84, died November 7, 2015 in Greensburg, Kansas. He was born June 26, 1931 in Edwards County, Kansas, the son of Chester and Pearl (Welsch) Gamble. Dean had lived in Hutchinson, Stafford and Greensburg. He was a teacher 37 years and a farmer 61 years. He earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Math and Science from Kansas State University. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greensburg, the Moose Lodge of Wichita, and a past member of the Kiowa County Memorial Hospital Board. On December 23, 1956 Dean married Marlene Louise Cummins in Macksville, Kansas. She preceded him in death August 2, 1993. Survivors include a son Ki Gamble and wife Kim, Greensburg, two Grandchildren Kasey Gamble and Katelynn Gamble both of Greensburg, and one sister Norma Gamble, Wichita. Funeral Services and Celebration of Dean’s life will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church, Greensburg with Pastor Terry Mayhew officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg. A visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday at the church.
