Greensburg – Dolly D. Adolph, 84, died June 13., 2024 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. She was born May 19, 1940, in Mullinville, Kansas the daughter of John Clarence and Mary Marie (Lewis) Jones. She was a lifetime Kiowa County resident, graduating from Greensburg High School in 1958. Dolly was a waitress at Stonecrest Café in Greensburg. She later became head cook and supervisor of the Greensburg school district cafeteria for over twenty years, retiring in 1998. Dolly was also employed by Kiowa County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. She then pursued her lifelong dream to have her own restaurant. In 2010 she opened Dolly’s Diner in Haviland Kansas. Dolly loved to cook and was also an avid Bowler. Her aspiration for the sport lead her to many state and national tournaments. She never hit her goal of 300, but there were many games over 250, with many trophies and awards including a 50 year pin at the state level. Dolly was also a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Greensburg. Dolly married Stanley Adolph Jan. 16, 1959, in Miami, Okla. She was Preceded in death by Stanley (2014) her parents, and two brothers, Chester and Charles Jones. Survivors include one daughter, Debbie Adolph, Greensburg; two sons: Bill Adolph and wife, Jamie and John Adolph and wife, Marsha all of Arizona; four brothers, Don Jones, San Antonio, TX; Clayton Jones, Nickerson, KS; Clyde Jones, Wichita, KS; Clinton Jones, Pratt, KS; six grandchildren, David Andrews, Lenexa, KS; Brooke Andrews, Overland Park, KS; Courtney Schmidt (Adolph), AZ; Kirk Adolph, CA; Alec Cecil, Dodge City, KS; and Alexas Cecil, Overland Park, KS; 6 great grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Grace and Elizabeth Andrews, and Michael, Ethyn, and Huynter Heredia. Funeral services and celebration of Dolly’s life will be Monday, June 17th, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. at the Peace Lutheran Church of Greensburg with Rev. David McCloskey presiding. Visitation will be held Sunday 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Fleener Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Dolly Adolph Final Expense Fund in care of Fleener Funeral Home, 514 S.
