Greensburg- Earl William Anderson, 80, died July 27, 2013 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. He was born January 15, 1933 in Greensburg, the son of Rudolph and Beverene (Allison) Anderson. He graduated from Greensburg High School in 1951 and was a lifetime resident of Greensburg. He was a meter technician, retiring from Panhandle Eastern Pipeline. Earl joined the Greensburg Fire Dept. in 1967, and served as Chief from 1996-2006. He was a member of the Kiowa Lodge #293 Masonic Lodge, and the First United Methodist Church, both of Greensburg. He served in the United States Army. On December26, 1958, Earl married Helen Bare in Greensburg. She preceded him in death March 7, 1990. Survivors include one son Carl and wife Sherri Anderson, Wichita, and two grandchildren Casey Anderson, Haysville, Kansas, and Terri Anderson, Indianapolis, Indiana. He was also preceded by a son Gary Anderson in 1995. Funeral services and celebration of Earl’s life will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 2, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church, Greensburg, with Pastor Terry Mayhew officiating. Burial with Military and Masonic graveside services will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg. A visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday at Fleener Funeral Home.
