Elvin D. “Pete” Allison

Greensburg-Elvin D. “Pete” Allison, 91, died July 6, 2018 at the Kiowa County Memorial Hospital. He was born November 6, 1926 in rural Edwards County , the son of Asul Gossage and Sadie Ethel (Robertson) Allison. Pete graduated from Centerview High School in 1945. He was a lifetime resident of Edwards and Kiowa Counties. Pete was a World War Two veteran serving in the U.S. Army. On July 8, 1959 Pete married Joyce Canfield in Clayton, New Mexico. She survives. He is also survived by a daughter Shelly Thomas and husband Scott, Sedgwick, Kansas, two Grandchildren Levi Scott Thomas and wife Lindsay, Valley Center, Kansas, and Allison Zerbe and husband Alex, Topeka, Kansas, and one Great-granddaughter Hadley Kay Thomas. Pete was preceded in death by two infant sons Tommy Duane and Danny Doyle, two brothers Glen and Earnest Allison and a sister Elsie Newsom. Graveside services with Military Honors will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2018 in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg, Kansas with Pastor Mark Dirks presiding. Memorials are suggested to the Kiowa County Senior Center and the Kiowa County Library, in care of Fleener Funeral Home, PO Box 41, Greensburg, Kansas 67054-0041.
