Greensburg- Ernest B. Randel, 86, died January 17, 2023, at his home near Greensburg, Kansas. He was born November 19, 1936, near Lewis, Kansas, the son of Alva Ernest and Dorothea Irene (Bitner) Randel. Ernie graduated from Greensburg High School in 1955 and earned an Electrical Engineering degree from Kansas State University. He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. He had lived in California, Florida, Texas, and Greensburg since 1973. He was the owner / operator of Randel TV and Appliance, Greensburg for many years. He was the past president of the Kansas Electronics Association and a member of the National Electronics Service Dealers’ Association. On April 3, 1965 Ernie married Gene Ann Younkin in Lawrence, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include a son Victor Randel (Leota), Hutchinson, Kansas, a daughter Sharyl Terryn (Michael), Greensburg, one Granddaughter Nikole Terryn, Wichita, Kansas, and a sister Jane Randel, Ford, Kansas. Cremation was selected. Private family services are planned. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of Fleener Funeral Home, PO Box 41, Greensburg, KS 67054.
