Estella K. Bowden

St. John- Estella (Kruse) Bowden, 96, died March 16, 2018 in Leisure Homestead at Stafford, Stafford, Kansas. She was born May 16, 1921 near Greensburg, Kansas the daughter of Ralph and Birdie (Reed) Kruse. She had lived in Greensburg, Mullinville and St. John, Kansas. Estella graduated from Greensburg High School in 1938 and earned an RN degree from St. Francis School of Nursing in Wichita, Kansas. She was the County Health Nurse in Kiowa and Stafford counties. She had been a member of the First Christian Church and First United Methodist Church, Greensburg, the Antrim United Methodist Church, St. John, and several Federated Women’s Clubs. Estella married Milton Bowden in January 1979. He preceded her in death. She is survived by one son Carl McFadden, Mullinville, Kansas, and many nieces and nephews and their families. She was also preceded by one brother Bill Kruse and two sisters Katherine Perry and Ann Robinson. Graveside services and celebration of Estella’s life will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018 in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg with Pastor Tom Walters presiding. A visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday at Fleener Funeral Home, Greensburg.
