Ethyle Mae Murray

Greensburg - Ethyle Mae (Little) Murray passed away at Pleasant View Home in Inman, Kansas on January 10, 2024.  Ethyle was born on October 12, 1925, on the family farm in rural Kiowa County south of Greensburg, Kansas.  She was the ninth and youngest child of John Whitfield and Jessie Belle (Waller) Little. 

On October 12, 1950, she married Paul Murray.  He preceded her in death on June 4, 2001.  Ethyle graduated from Greensburg High School in 1943.  She was a member of the Assembly of God Church/ Lighthouse Worship Center in Greensburg and had been a Sunday School teacher for many years.  Ethyle retired from the Kiowa County Treasurers Office after a 32 year career.  Her family and her church family were significant in her life.

Ethyle is survived by a son, Douglas Murray (Brenda), Metropolis, Illinois and a daughter, Joanne Regehr (Gary), Goddard, Kansas. Grandchildren:  Stephen Hewitt  (Kim), Wichita, Kansas, Nicholas Murray (Sarah), Metamora, Illinois, Gentry Quint (Jared), Metropolis, Illinois, Dan Hewitt (Maricela), Goddard, Kansas, and Jon Morgan (Nicole), Pratt, Kansas.  Fifteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Ethyle was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, an infant son, Daniel, five brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be at Lighthouse Worship Center, Greensburg, Kansas, January 15, 2024 at 1 PM and Funeral Service will follow at 2 PM with Rev. Jeffrey D. Blackburn presiding.   Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg, Kansas.
