Greensburg- Frank Clair Banta, 91, died March 11, 2021 in Kiowa County Memorial Hospital, Greensburg, Kansas. He was born July 13, 1929 in Greensburg the son of Charles Lewis and Pearl Regina (Thompson) Banta. A lifetime resident of Greensburg, Clair graduated from Greensburg High School in 1948. He was a district superintendent for Michigan Wisconsin Pipeline Company and a farmer. He was a member of the First Christian Church, president of the Fairview Cemetery Board, a charter member and president of the Sandhill Archers Club, the Kiowa Lodge of the Masonic Lodge, all of Greensburg, the Midian Shriners, Wichita, Kansas and vice-president of the Sunflower State Cranker’s Model T Club. On January 25, 1949 Clair married Wilda Watson in Greensburg. She preceded him in death May 19, 2013. Clair is survived by two sons Rex and Tracy Banta, one daughter Deanna Unruh, eleven Grandchildren, and thirteen Great-grandchildren. He was preceded by two sons Chris and Robert “Bob” Banta, two brothers and one sister. Memorial services and celebration of Clair’s life will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday March 20, 2021 at the First Christian Church, Greensburg with Pastor Jon Harrison presiding. Live stream of the service will be available on Zoom which can be accessed on the church’s Facebook page. Private family inurnment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg.
