Mullinville- Grant N. Vickery, Sr., 72, died November 10, 2015 at Trinity Manor, Dodge City, Kansas. He was born Nov 17, 1942 in Grand Rapids, Michigan the son of Ira J. and Marsha (Ellis) Vickery. He had lived in Maryland, Arkansas and Kansas. Grant graduated from Rogers High School. He was an Electrical Estimator and Architectural Draftsman. He was a member of the Mullinville United Methodist Church and the American Legion. Grant was a veteran of the Viet Nam War, serving in the U.S. Air Force and Navy. On Dec 7, 1963 he married Charlotte Crable at Emporia, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include three sons Grant N. Vickery, Jr. and wife Carolyn, Mullinville, Daryl W. Vickery and wife Debbie and Todd C. Vickery and wife Angie all of Topeka, 15 Grandchildren, Dustin and wife Miranda Brumley, Ana Brumley and friend Isaac Wright, Jazmine and husband Austin Hornof, Aubre E. Lehman, Summer and husband Logan Chism, Precious Johnson and spouse Timothy Smith, Taylor Farris, Mark Vickery and spouse Danielle Blount, Ryan Vickery, Emily Vickery, Brandon Vickery and spouse Brianna Rieves, Kristen and Shaqune Mecham, Jacob Vickery, Dylan Vickery, and Daniel Howell and, 19 Great-grandchildren, Bradlie, Alessa and Diesel Brumley, Amelia McCaskey and her unborn baby brother, Kaybre and Jordynn Vickery, Kingston, Bentley and Jewell Vickery, Damian Gibson, David Gibson II, Ariana Ackerman, Keegan and Michael Vickery, Sophia Cohagen,Caysin Rieves, and Jadyn and Aurora Mecham, one brother Jim Vickery and wife Barbara, and one sister Terry Smith and husband Mel all of Greenville, Michigan. Grant was preceded in death by one brother Doug Vickery. Funeral services and celebration of Grant’s life will be held 10:00 am Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Mullinville United Methodist Church, Mullinville with Pastor Mark Fillmore presiding. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Mullinville. A visitation will be held 5:00-7:00p.m. Friday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the church in care of Fleener Funeral Home, 514 S main St., Greensburg, Kansas 67054.
