Hutchinson- John Fletcher Harris , Jr., 97, died March 26, 2016 at Hospice House of Reno County, Hutchinson, Kansas. he was born July 26, 1918 in Bronson, Kansas, the son of John Fletcher Harris, Sr. and Maude (Geyer) Harris. John graduated from Bronson High School. He had lived in Bronson, Iola, Wichita, Greensburg until 2007 and in Hutchinson since then. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge for 50 plus years, and Rotary Club, all of Greensburg. He was the Owner/Operator of the Western Auto Store in Greensburg for 27 years. On August 15, 1940 John married Mary E. Miller in Neosho, Missouri. Survivors include a son John Robert Harris and wife Vanessa, a daughter Marilyn (Sutton) Ropp and husband Dan, a sister Francis Fursman, three Grandchildren Mike Sutton, Jon Sutton and wife Cheryl, and Kara Sutton and fiance Derek Higgins, three Great-grandchildren Danyka, Kinley, and Zailey Sutton. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary, of 76 years, son-in-law Rod Sutton and a sister Elizabeth. Graveside services will be held 11:45 am Tuesday, March 29, 2016 in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg, Kansas. A visitation will be held 10:00-11:30 am Tuesday at Fleener Funeral Home, Greensburg. Memorials are suggested to the Hospice House of Reno County, in care of Fleener Funeral Home, 514 S. Main St., Greensburg, KS 67054.
