Judith Marie Schmidt

Great Bend- Judith Marie Schmidt, 76, died April 18, 2016 at her home in Great Bend, Kansas. She was born October 9, 1939 in Pratt, Kansas, the daughter of Francis Patrick and Goldie Ann (Kaiser) Shea. Judith graduated from Pratt High School and had worked as a machinist at Cross Manufacturing, Pratt, Kansas and as a cook at hospitals in Greensburg, Larned and Great Bend. She had lived in Pratt, Greensburg, Larned and Great Bend. She served on the board of directors of the Great Bend Housing Authority. Judith is survived by two daughters Corla Clark and husband Darry, Haviland, Kansas, and Goldie Taylor and husband Jon, Great Bend, one brother Mick Shea and wife Shirley, Hutchinson, Kansas, two sisters Shirley Edsel and husband Don, Canyon City, Colorado, and Sherry Jo Coles and husband Rick Beeley, Coldwater, Kansas, three grandchildren Jeremy Taylor, Larned, C.D. Clark and wife Sheila, Hays, Kansas, and Jayci Arredondo, Haviland, and seven Great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Freddie Badders, Jr., a brother James Patrick Shea, two sisters Patti Thomas and Joy Shea, and a grandson Brennan Clark. Memorial services and celebration of Judith’s life will be held 10:30 am Monday at the Haviland United Methodist Church, Haviland with Pastor Mark Fillmore presiding. Inurnment will follow in Haviland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Pawnee County Humane Society in care of Fleener Funeral Home, 514 S. Main St., Greensburg, Kansas,67054.
