Linette Ilene Koehn

d. September 25, 2019

Greensburg-Linette Ilene Koehn, 70, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on September 25, 2019 at Kiowa County Memorial Hospital after a short battle with brain cancer. The majority of her married life was spent on her beloved farm in rural Kiowa County. Linette was born December 24, 1948 in Newton, KS to Alvin B. Flaming and Elda Mae Franz. She earned her cosmetology license at Sidney’s Hairdressing College in Hutchinson, KS after high school. She met her future husband Harry Lee Koehn of Greensburg, KS and they were married on November 9, 1969. They had three daughters, Carmen Renee Selzer (Todd Selzer), Ashley Evonne Reddout (Jeremy Reddout), Dana Koehn, and two granddaughters, Robyn Jade Selzer and Adrienne Dawn Selzer. Linette was an active member of her church, leading singing, working in children’s ministry, and serving where needed. She loved when all of her family was home to visit and hated to see them leave. We will always remember her parting words to us, “Call me when you get home.” She enjoyed get togethers with extended family and loved when her brother would come to visit. Her favorite pastimes were working in her yard, reading and music. She also enjoyed softball, bowling, sewing, and even took a woodworking class so she could make her own bathroom cabinets. She had many jobs including being a hairdresser, babysitting, working for USD 422, and the USDA Office. Linette was preceded in death by her father Alvin B. Flaming , stepfather Herbert P. Franz, and mother Elda Mae Franz. She is survived by husband Harry, three daughters and two granddaughters. Also, her brother Royce Flaming (Jennifer), sister Janine Peters (Delbert), sister Dorlee Freeman (Rick), sister Michelle Croomes, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Greensburg Mennonite Church in Greensburg, KS with Rev. Jeffrey D. Blackburn officiating. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Greensburg Mennonite Church, Greensburg, KS, Hospice of the Prairie, Dodge City, KS or Kiowa County Memorial Hospital, Greensburg, KS, in care of Fleener Funeral Home, PO Box 41, Greensburg, Kansas 67054.
