Greensburg- Marjorie M. Williams, 92, passed away peacefully June 17, 2021 in Kiowa County Memorial Hospital, Greensburg, Kansas. She was born March 30, 1929 in El Dorado, Kansas, the daughter of Charles Albert and Lettie Ormal (Steele) Rinker. Marjorie had lived in Matfield Green and Greensburg since 1945. She graduated from Greensburg High School. Places she worked were Pratt Drug, as a telephone operator, at the J-Hawk Motel, Duckwalls and the Greensburg State Bank, all in Greensburg. Her memberships included the First Baptist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Kiowa County Kickers Square Dance Club, and was a league bowler, all in Greensburg. On June 26, 1948 Marjorie married Walter Williams in Greensburg. He preceded her in death November 26, 2013. She is survived by one daughter Trudy Schmidt and husband Rick, Greensburg, one son Trenton Williams and wife Mary, Placerville, California, four Grandchildren Lee Schmidt and wife Shanna, Newton, Kansas, Krista Fisher and husband Michael, Folsom, California, Gentry Doggendorf and husband Jeff, Holly Springs, North Carolina, Kari Armstrong and husband Mike, Folsom, California, eleven Great-grandchildren and a brother-in-law Bill Waymire, Wichita, Kansas. She was also preceded in death by a brother Jay Rinker and two sisters Connie Shover and Shelby Waymire. Funeral services and celebration of Marjorie’s life will be held 10:30 am Wednesday June 23, 2021 at the First Baptist Church, Greensburg with Pastor Jeffrey D. Blackburn officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg. Memorials are suggested to St Jude Children’s Hospitals in care of Fleener Funeral Home, PO Box 41, Greensburg KS 67054.
