Greensburg- Neoma Ruth Wadel, 89, died March 7, 2024, at Kiowa County Memorial Hospital. She was born March 17, 1934, in Greensburg, Kansas, the daughter of Franklin and Lela (Nightengale) Nichols. A lifetime Greensburg area resident, Neoma was a homemaker. She attended the Lone Star School in rural Kiowa County and was a member of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Greensburg. On January 11, 1953, Neoma married Raymond Wadel in Greensburg. He preceded her in death July 6, 2016. She was also preceded by a son Steven Ray Wadel, a brother Ron Nichols, and five brothers-in-law. She is survived by four sons Arlin (Shelley) Wadel, Sheldon (Susan) Wadel, Charles (Sherri) Wadel, Gregg (Lori) Wadel, all of Greensburg, one brother Galen (Shirley) Nichols, Greensburg, three sisters Wanda Litwiller, Ithaca, Michigan, Lavada (Carl) Yost, Detroit, Texas, Shirley Nichols, Gentry, Arkansas, brother-in-law Darrell (Velda) Wadel, Spavinaw, Oklahoma, three sisters-in-law Glenda Nichols, Norma Koehn, Eunice Wadel, all of Greensburg, fourteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Greensburg, with Pastors Mark Dirks and Rod Nace presiding. A visitation will be held from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2024, at the church.
