Robert "Bob" C. Kilgore

Greensburg- Robert (Bob) Clarence Kilgore, 90, died March 11, 2025, in Kiowa County Memorial Hospital, Greensburg, Kansas. He was born October 17, 1934, in Dodge City, Kansas, the son of John Clarence and Ruth Inez (Burnett) Kilgore. A lifetime Kiowa County resident, Bob graduated from Mullinville High School in 1952. He served in the U.S. Army 1955-1956. On October 17, 1957, Robert married Nita Bailey near Mullinville, Kansas. Bob worked for the United States Postal Service for 39 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Greensburg, where he was active as an usher for many years and helped with Kids for Christ. He was a member of the Postal Carriers Union and had served on the Greensburg Recreation Commission. Bob and Nita enjoyed trips with their family and friends on Village bus tours. Bob was preceded in death by Nita, the love of his life, on December 5, 2024. He is survived by a son Jeff (Rena), Kilgore, Ozawkie, Kansas, daughters Karla (James) Johnston, Hays, Kansas, and Kayla (Mark) Queen, Manhattan, Kansas, nine Grandchildren; Elexia Kilgore (Ben Chipman), Ted Kilgore, Jill Kilgore (Tyler Brown), Kelsie Johnston, Christian Johnston, Bryan Queen (Holly), Kristen Klug (Chris), Keli Hess (Chris), Laura Bender (Tim), eight Great-grandchildren; Ruby Chipman, Jonah and Theo Klug, Kash Hess, Thomas and Jacob Bender, Shay and Ellis Logsdon, two sisters, Shirley Brown, Windsor, Colorado, and Sharon Rudd, Bucklin, Kansas, and a brother-in-law Jack (LaDean) Bailey, Great Bend, Kansas. Bob was preceded in death by a grandson, David Queen. Funeral Services and Celebration of Bob’s life will be held 10:30 am, Monday, March 17, 2025, at the Greensburg Methodist Church, Greensburg, with Pastor Dennis Irwin presiding. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg. A visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 pm Sunday at Fleener Funeral Home, Greensburg.
