Haviland- Robert Dale “Grub” Lothman, 69, died October 22, 2013, at South Wind Hospice House, Pratt, Kansas. He was born December 10, 1943 in Depew, Oklahoma, the son of Louis “Whitey” and Marie (Hamby) Lothman. Dale grew up in Optima, Oklahoma. He spent time in Guymon and Hooker, Oklahoma. He graduated from Hooker High School in 1962. He was a mechanic, working on autos aircraft and natural gas compressors. Work led him to live in Wichita, Kansas, Drummond, Oklahoma, and Haviland, Kansas since 1973. His memberships include the First Assembly of God, Pratt, and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Assoc.. On August 6, 1961 Dale married Susan Powell in Gruver, Texas. She survives. Other survivors include two sons Ty and wife Mary Lothman and Kendal and wife Lorena Lothman all of Haviland, ten Grandchildren Finice and wife Jennifer McCarley, Tyler McCarley, Pake and wife Andy McCarley, Cody Lothman, Rance Lothman, Wyatt Lothman, Boyd Lothman, Roy Lothman, Brayden Lothman, and Cash Lothman, three Great-grandchildren Jade McCarley, Jordan McCarley and Kaden McCarley, and a sister Loraine Nester, Bridgeport, West Virginia. He was preceded in death by his father Louis Lothman, mother Marie Hardy, step-father Olin Hardy, a brother Leon Lothman and a son Earl Wade Lothman. Funeral services and celebration of Dale’s life will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at the Haviland Friends Church, Haviland with Pastor’s Billy Simar and Donnie Hinshaw officiating. Burial will follow in Soldier Creek Cemetery, Belvidere, Kansas. A visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday at Fleener Funeral Home, Greensburg, Kansas.
