Dodge City- Steven Scott Worden, 64, died July 31, 2024, in Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. He was born May 20, 1960, in Greensburg, Kansas, the son of Gary Lee and F. Elaine (Wooten) Worden. Steve attended schools in Haviland, Kansas, graduating from Haviland High School in 1978 and attended Barclay College, Haviland. He had lived in Haviland and Dodge City, Kansas. Steve was a truck driver for Mid-Am Building Supply, and worked part time at Mead Lumber, Dodge City. He was a member of the NRA, the Grace Community Church and Dodge City Roundup, Inc. both of Dodge City. Steve is survived by one son Zane Worden, Wichita, his mother Elaine Worden, Haviland, one brother Jerry (Darla) Worden, Wichita, one sister Pam (Roger) Mayo, Pratt, Kansas, and several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father Gary Worden June 18, 2014. A memorial service and celebration of Steve’s life will be held 10:30 am Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Grace Community Church, Dodge City, with pastor Kirk Larson officiating. A second celebration and time of sharing memories will be later that day at 3:00pm at the Haviland Friends Church Youth Building with Pastor Todd Follette presiding. Inurnment will be at a future date in Haviland Cemetery.
