Greensburg- Troy Neal Kirby, 59, died September 22, 2023, at his home in Greensburg, Kansas. He was born April 15, 1964, in St. John, Kansas, the son of Keith Willis and Thelma June (Wilhelm) Kirby.  Troy grew up in St. John and Great Bend, graduating from Great Bend High School in 1982. He had lived in Greensburg since 1995. He was the owner of South Central Irrigation. Troy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Greensburg, an avid golfer, and an accomplished musician. He was well known in the area with bands Freddy Fox and the Hotrods, Retroactive, and Love Handle. On January 7, 1995, Troy married Cassie (Neelly) Brooks in Hutchinson, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Allison Kirby, of the home; two stepsons, Aaron and Ryan Brooks, Hutchinson; two granddaughters, Amira and Harlow Brooks; one brother, Stephen Kirby and wife Tanya, St. John; and one sister, Brenda Urban and husband Mitch, Lawrence, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Mass and celebration of Troy’s life will be held 10:30 am, Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Greensburg, with Fr. Ted Skalsky presiding. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg. Friends are encouraged to share memories at a visitation 5:00-8:00 pm Tuesday, September 26, at the church. Memorials are suggested to Cannonball Golf Club, Greensburg, Park Hills Country Club, Pratt, Kansas, and St. Joseph Catholic Church, all in care of Fleener Funeral Home, PO Box 41, Greensburg, KS 67054.
