Round Rock, TX- Wilbur H. Entz, 83, died January 9, 2024, in Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, Round Rock, Texas. He was born April 2, 1940, in Newton, Kansas, the son of Albert and Frieda (Busenitz) Entz. Wilbur earned a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Bethel College, Newton, and was a chemist for the Kansas Department of Transportation, in materials and research. He lived in Topeka, Kansas, and Round Rock, Texas. He was a member of Gideons’ International, the Institute of Creation Research, several astronomy clubs, the Topeka Bible Church, and attended the First Baptist Church, Round Rock. On September 15, 2007, Wilbur married Rosana Abando in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include five brothers, Alden and Laura Entz (Elbing), Reynold and Deanna Entz (rural Whitewater), Loren and Donna Entz (Winnipeg, MB), Thurman and Marcene Entz (rural Newton), Bernard Entz (Newton), two sisters, Margaret and Dan Spare (Hesston), Elena and Dave Wiebe (Newton), and many nieces and nephews and their families. A funeral service and celebration of Wilbur’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Zion Mennonite Church, Elbing, Kansas with Pastor Dave Reimer presiding. Viewing will begin at 10:30 at the church. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Far East Broadcasting Company, and Gideon's International, in care of Fleener Funeral Home, PO Box 41, Greensburg, Kansas 67054.
